‘A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.’
Around 6.5 Million people in the UK are Carers and everyday another 6000 people take on a caring responsibility – that equals over 2 million people each year.
- 58% of carers are women and 42% are men.
- 1.4 million people provide over 50 hours of care per week.
- Over 1 million people care for more than one person
Although caring can be rewarding, I know from lived experience that it can also be extremely overwhelming and exhausting:
- Additional responsibilities
- Sleep deprivation
- Financial strain
- Strain on relationships
To name just a few.
This is why it is vital that you look after your own needs as you tend to the needs of the person you care for and this is why I launched my ‘Care4Carers Programme’.
If you are a carer I will work with you and coach you to reduce your stress, create better balance in your life and assist you in better looking after your own health and relationships whilst helping you set and achieve your goals.
